Contemporary half red leather over marbled boards, marbled endpapers. 19.5×12.5×1.7 cm. New Bedford. Circa 1838. [154] pp. Very good. A collection of popular poems transcribed in an elegant script. Poems by Percival, Burns, Shakespeare, Sigourney, Fitzgerald, and others. Script is quite small but legible. Back of front free endpaper has what appears to be the owner’s inscription “R.W. Coombs 1836” as well as a note that appears to be from 1914 stating that “Mrs. Haskell Called this afternoon Wednesday August 26th”. Some of the entries include a place of “New Bedford”.
